How did the two of us come together?

How did the two of us
come together?

The truth is ...we don’t do ‘surface’ when it comes to life. As good friends, we spent many a coffee date diving deep into various life issues and challenges. We found ourselves immersed in all manner of conversations about kids and realized that not only did we enjoy the learning we had from those moments, but that others could benefit from these conversations as well.

What began as coffee time conversations,
morphed into a partnership focused on
making a difference for parents, kids, and families.

Kimberley:

“I was the kid who was babysitting from the time I was 10 years old, loving every moment of my time spent with children. I was a camp counsellor for years and after my degree in Psychology, worked with children with disabilities in the school system."

Lynn:

“I was one of those people who knew very early on what they wanted to do, and for me that was helping people. Maybe being one of five adopted kids with 12 nationalities between us, inspired this desire! Upon completing my Masters in Social Work, I started working in schools with parents, teachers, and children."'

Kimberley:

"Becoming a parent was my greatest longing and having three children within five years certainly granted me my wish. Being immersed in the ages and stages of childhood development, fueled my desire to continue learning more about raising kids well."

Lynn:

"My work in schools opened the door to more and more opportunities to grow and build my skills and I soon started training staff and parents. I discovered I loved both – working directly with people and teaching groups. I became a Senior Faculty for the William Glasser Institute which gave me the opportunity to facilitate workshops around the world. This global view of parenting issues and challenges was invaluable in giving me a broader perspective on key issues."

Kimberley:

"Raising kids is a huge passion and yet I am one of those people who can’t sit still. I’ve always had invention ideas and looked for unique ways to serve my community. This desire intersected with my kids having health challenges. One was congested from the time he was three weeks old, while another was a picky eater and struggling with food sensitivities and gut problems. I developed a business in health and wellness that continues to thrive today."

"Following the birth of my son in 1981, I chose to go into private practice, which allowed me to be with him and work part time. The joy of private practice is you have more freedom regarding your schedule. Because I was teaching and offering workshops, I stayed connected to important advances in science and human behaviour. I became a Neuro Linguistic Program (NLP) trainer which also gave me fabulous strategies I could pass on to my clients, especially those dealing with trauma and abuse."
